The Unikko fabric cotton-linen from Marimekko fits well into the timeless Scandinavian home. The Unikko pattern was designed by Maija & Kristina Isola and came about in 1964 after Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia had issued a ban on floral patterns. Maija Isola, however, managed to persuade her with her delightful poppies and Unikko went into production. Since then, it has become somewhat of a signature pattern for Marimekko. The fabric by the metre can be used for curtains, cushion covers, tablecloths, pot holders, or bags.
